Alzheimer’s is relentless, but we can improve the quality of life for all people affected by Alzheimer’s. Our goal is to offer useful tools at no cost to the patient by:
Providing an opportunity for connection with their friends and families for patients already in nursing home care. People are often uncomfortable with the nursing home setting and that can lead to disconnection in families just when they need it most. Nursing home patients often watch a lot of TV. TV alone can lose its efficacy as a redirection because of commercial interruptions and the fact that the material is new. Our tools will provide more meaningful interaction because of the familiar information.
Elevating the status of caregiver coaching in the eyes of the medical community. Caregivers suffer considerably during the progression of their loved one’s disease. We believe we can improve their care-giving experience as well as the quality of life for their loved one by providing them useful tools and access to local resources. Alzheimer’s patients’ quality of life and likelihood of institutionalization are directly linked to caregiver wellbeing
Delaying nursing home placement for patients in the community so that more people can stay where they are most comfortable as their disease progresses.
Decreasing the necessity for pharmaceutical intervention for patients already in nursing home care, as well as comfort and sooth as they continue with the progression of the disease.
